How to connect Neo smartpen

  • Once you have agreed to all the terms and conditions, please check the pen connection tutorial before entering the main screen and connect your Neo smartpen.

  • If you click the [Later] button, you can go directly to the main screen without connecting the pen.

  • The method for connecting the device varies depending on the OS. Please refer to the guides below for Windows and Mac OS.

  • Please note that the tutorial screen appears only the first time you connect your pen after logging in and agreeing to the terms and conditions. It will not be displayed afterwards.

Connect Device (Win)

1. Device Connection during Login and Terms of Service Agreement

  • First, check if Bluetooth is turned on, and press the power button on the pen to turn it on.

  • Click the [Connect] button to display the popup of the searched device.

2. Device connection on the main screen after login

  • Click the [Search Device] button on the bottom left of the main screen or the [Search] button on a connected device to search for your device.

    • If you hover your mouse over the [Search Device] button on the bottom left of the main screen, a message saying "Please check if your Bluetooth is on before you connect your pen. You can press the power button to turn on your pen." will appear.

    • On a 32-bit environment, the [Search] button on the connected device will not be activated, while on a 64-bit environment, the [Search] button mentioned earlier will be activated.

    • Clicking the button will bring up a pop-up window that shows the search results for your device.

3. Searched Devices - Searching (Win)

  • When the window with the searched devices appears, search for the smart pen with the power turned on.

    • In 32-bit PC environments, Bluetooth activation cannot be detected through the cloud, so you need to check if Bluetooth is turned on directly.

    • Please check if your PC is 32-bit and connect the pen.

  • If you want to cancel the pen connection during the search, you can click the [Cancel] button or the Close (X) button to stop the pen search.

4. Searched Devices - Search Complete (Win)

  • Once the searched device pop-up appears, click on the model name of the smartpen that you turned on, and press the [Confirm] button to complete the connection process and move to the main screen.

    • Please check the label attached to the body of the pen to confirm its model name.

    • If the model name of the pen you turned on does not appear, you can click the [Search] button at the bottom left to search again.

    • If you click the [Cancel] or Close (X) button at the bottom right, and you are in the login > agreement > pen connection stage, you will return to the pen connection tutorial screen. If you are in the stage of connecting from the main screen, you will return to the main screen.

  • If the desired pen does not appear in the list, Please click the [Search] button to search again.

Connect Device (Mac)

1. Device Connection during Login and Terms of Service Agreement

  • First, check if Bluetooth is turned on, and press the power button on the pen to turn it on.

  • Click the [Connect] button to display the popup of the searched device.

2. Device connection on the main screen after login (Mac)

  • Click on the [Search Device] button located in the bottom left corner of the main screen or the [Search] button in the connected devices section.

  • Clicking on the button will bring up a pop-up of the searching devices.

3. Searched Devices - Searching (Mac)

  • After the search device window appears, search for the smart pen with the power turned on.

  • If you want to cancel the pen search during the process, you can click the [Cancel] or the Close (X) button.

4. Searched Devices - Search Complete (Mac)

Connect Device(Smartpen) - When a password is set

  • If you have previously set a password for your pen connection in NeoStudio (mobile app) or Pen Manager, a password input window will appear.

  • After entering the password, click the [OK] button to complete the pen connection.

  • You can view the password you entered by clicking the [eye] icon in the input field.

  • You can erase the password you entered by clicking the [X] icon in the input field.

1. In case of a password error

  • If there is a password input error, the connection cannot be established.

  • If the password is entered incorrectly more than 10 times, the device will be reset. > Go to device reset.

2. Device reset after password error more than 10 times

  • If the password is entered incorrectly more than 10 times, all data on the pen will be erased. Please keep this in mind when connecting the pen.

3. If the device is not listed in the search results

  • If the desired pen is not listed in the search results, you can click the [Rescan] button to search again.

  • Please double check that the pen you are connecting is a NeoLAB Convergence smart pen.
